DIRECT ACCESS PHASE 2 UPDATE!

The Open Enrollment Window (OEW) for Year 2 of the Direct Access (DA) Program has now closed. PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E are no longer accepting notices. The OEW for Year 3 will open in January 2011; we will continue to accept our customers' forms but will be unable to submit them to the utilities until that time.

If you have any questions regarding the DA Program OEW Year 2 or OEW Year 3, please contact our Marketing Department at (888)875-6122, or email electricity@tigernaturalgas.com.

California Electricity Announcement

Tiger is excited to announce we are offering Electricity service in California!

As you may know, the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) is partially opening up the state’s electric service to competition. The program is known as Direct Access (“DA”) and will allow Non-Residential customers to have a choice of purchasing Electricity from an independent Electric Service Provider (Tiger) rather than from their Local Utility Company.  The CPUC has set limits as to how many customers will be allowed to switch each year. Please Note: If you have any interest in switching to DA service, you have a very limited time period to notify your Utility Company of your interest.

Sign-up Process:

An Open Enrollment Window has been established for all interested customers who wish to submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) to transfer to Direct Access (DA) service. The Utility companies will take these Notices based on a first-come, first-served basis in January 17, 2011. NOI’s will only be rejected if the annual limit has been met. It is highly likely that there will be a large initial rush of Notice-of-Intents submitted on January 17th. The third year‘s cap could be exceeded within the first hour of the first day.  If you would like the opportunity to choose your provider, you need to fill out the Notice of Intent and Authorization forms and send to Tiger by January 14, 2011, 5:00 p.m. CST.

What to Send to Tiger:

To secure you place in line, please send both a Six-Month Advance Notice to Transfer to Direct Access Service (Six-Month Notice) and a completed Authorization to Release Data form to Tiger as soon as possible, with the specific electric Service ID Numbers listed for the corresponding accounts you intend to switch service (the Service ID Number is the same as the Service Agreement Number and should be used on the Six-Month Notice; the Authorization Form Requires the Service Account Number). Tiger will be collecting these forms on behalf of our customers and submitting them to the relevant local utilities on January 17, 2010.

Please Note: The required forms have changed in OEW Year 2 from the Notice of Intent to Transfer (NOI) submitted Year 1 to a Six-Month Advance Notice to Transfer to Direct Access Service. If you have already submitted an "Authorization to Receive Customer Information or Act Upon a Customer's Behalf" to Tiger, we will transfer your information from the old form to the new formand resubmit for you in OEW Year 3.

What Happens Next:

If capacity space is available, you will be notified within 20 days of the CPUC’s receipt of your Notice, and you will have 60 days from the date of notification to commit to TIGER’s service for the specific customer account(s). If you fail to commit during the 60 day period, the capacity space reserved for you will be allocated to the next customer in line. If we are unable to enter into an agreement, your account(s) will be subject to Transitional Bundled Commodity pricing for a period of six (6) months, then begin a new three (3) year commitment period on Bundled Portfolio Service (your current rate schedule with the utility). You will not be able to go back to DA service until the 3 year commitment period has expired. In the event your NOI is not accepted, you will remain on your current rate schedule and be eligible to resubmit your NOI in the 3rd phase of the DA program.

Tiger is dedicated to maximizing your chance to be allotted space and providing you a substantial savings on your electricity, just as we do for your natural gas.
